God is NOT a liar.

Do you need something today?  Maybe a healing touch, a bill paid or a relationship fixed?  Then why are you trying to take care of it in your own power and through your own resources?

Are you saved?  Are you right with God?  Then quit leaning on your strength and quit trusting man to solve your life's problems.

"But MY GOD SHALL supply (submit your need here) ALL your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

That doesn't mean we have to wait until we are in glory to have all our needs met.  That is talking about the right here and the right now.  Do you believe it or not?

I know what you want to say.  You have been praying and God isn't doing anything about it.  WRONG.  He said He will supply and He will.  But your husband still divorced you.  Your son is still on drugs. You still have no answers. Your mom still won't speak to you.  You are still unemployed.  You still don't have a car to drive.  Your body still hurts.  Okay, so is God a liar?  Maybe your definition of need and God's definition of need differ.  Other peoples sin is something they have to deal with, God can fulfill YOUR need in the situation with His sufficient grace.

If you want to accuse Him of being a liar, go ahead, but stay clear of me because I don't want the lightening to hit me!  Do you remember the children of Israel after Aaron died?  They watched God give them the land He had promised and they marched forward, but they did it complaining!  They were having victory, but they just had to say something that basically was calling God a liar.  Listen to them:

"Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?  for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread."

They didn't like their present circumstances, so instead of enjoying what God had provided (a great leader in Moses, manna sufficient, and victory in battle) they wanted more and where did they want it from?  EGYPT!  The place where they used to be in bondage!!  Doesn't make much sense when you think about it, but you and I do the same thing in our lives don't we?

Let's not look to the world and the lusts there to resolve our problems!  God PROMISED us a PRECIOUS and EXCEEDING GREAT PROMISE by saying He will use His unlimited riches in glory to meet our need.

Now is God a liar?

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent:  hath he said, and shall he not do it?  or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" Numbers 23:19

Until next time, Lord willing,
Sheri
