Call to Rememberance

Please read every one of these verses and know that His Words are more powerful than my words!

2Ti 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also

Jer 16:12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:

2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

Easter...a time of Spring every where. The tall pines in Central Florida dress the forest with glimpses of crosses reminding us of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter...a time for Jews to celebrate the passover but still looking for the Messiah.
Easter...a time for this rotten world to make havoc of this special time of the year as we call to remembrance our Lord and Savior.

Don’t you despise the commercials we are now seeing on television? All of it points to the time of complete brain wash! What is good, according to God’s Word and to us is now bad, but then, what is bad to us is accepted as good and is becoming a way of life!! There is no room left for our imagination because our brains are completely controlled by the injected, infected imaginations of others which should not happen. How does it make its way into our homes, our living rooms, our bedrooms and into the minds of our precious children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren? It is a slow KILL of all that is righteous and Holy and we are allowing it to crawl in and show its venomous head ready to strike and kill.

The enemy has succeeded to convince the writers and producers of these filthy advertisements to make them as sensual, vile and wicked as possible.  And then…..in just a matter of a few months, take those same provocative thoughts and make it worse and worse! We are waxing worse and worse. You see it AND you KNOW IT!

Our children and grandchildren see it somewhat, but their eye sight may be a little cloudy. They will only recognize the enemy if we have done our part before he knocks at their door. What are you doing about it or are you like so many parents who say, “Oh it will be alright! It didn’t hurt me and it won’t hurt them. They’ll make it. They are tough and need to know how to buckle up and take charge.”  Oh really?! Do you really believe for one second that our, YOUR children and grandchildren are able to tough it out, simply because WE DID!

Come on people….Let’s get on board and dig our heads out of the sand!

Read with me the following verses:

2Ti 3:12-15 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Paul reminds you and me in these passages that Timothy had a great heritage in his precious Grandmother Lois and Mother, Eunice. Both of these women were probably saved under Paul's ministry. Because of Paul’s faithfulness and “stick-to-itiveness” Lois became a Christian along with her own, Eunice. As a young lad, following them around during this time was of course, Timothy. “Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name” and bless all faithful Grandmothers and Moms! How are you doing? Is it time for a check-up or a pat on your weary back? Is it difficult? Yes, but is it worth it, YES a hundred times….YES!!!

2Ti 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

I praise the Lord for my Grandmother, Lily Mae Baxley. Every Easter I look forward to searching for the lilies in wet, swampy areas especially down highway 27 in Fellowship, Florida. Jesus was known as the Lily of the Valley and the Rose of Sharon. I am blessed by Grandma's name, Lily and my name, Sharon. Call it what you like, but I call to remembrance my heritage and this very special time of the year. I want to pass this heritage on to those who follow.

My husband and I will have the opportunity and privilege to spend some quality time with our oldest grandson, Wyatt, before he drives away to college. My husband has already warned me that he wants to teach Wyatt some things and keep before him the great heritage handed down to him by his Dad and Mom Edwards. He also warned me to not to interfere with his plan. Do you know why he has to do that? Because he knows that I will want to make banana pudding and his favorite foods, laugh and talk a lot out by the swing reminiscing the younger years of his life. Sounds good to me, but oh well, I will need to step aside and let Grandpa take the reins and pray for those long talks ahead. God help us to keep the FAITH and to not be ashamed to “tell it like it is” stirring up the gift that is in them as we influence our children and grandchildren for the Lord Jesus Christ!

Don’t hold back, Moms. Don’t give in, Grandmothers! Keep the faith and the old paths alive and never feel that you must apologize for the old way, the true way to live according to the Words of this Great Book, the Holy Bible!  The new way has stolen the hearts and minds of our precious young people and will wax worse and worse. Call to remembrance Jesus Christ, today, as you celebrate his death, burial and resurrection ...... pass it on.

2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Until next time, Lord willing,

Sharon
