Will you stop right now and think with me about our world’s
condition? We are worse than Sodom and Gomorrah and I cannot see it getting
better folks, but will you also stop and think with me, right now, of the
glorious return of our Savior and this awesome God we serve? As I began my study in Malachi I was
tempted to lay my pen and Bible down and just cry, weeping for my Savior and
the people scattered all over this world who have rejected our Lord! I cannot give in or give up and neither can
you, my friend.
Mal 2:17 Ye
have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him?
When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD,
and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?
Mal 3:1 ¶
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and
the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger
of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of
hosts
When was the last time you just took time to praise Him for……everything…..EVERYTHING?
He
deserves our praise not our pity. He deserves our voices lifted up to
heaven, hands in the air, shouting, “Glory to God in the Highest, thank you
Jesus for dying for our sins!” He doesn’t deserve our complaining spirits as we
question every move made on this earth. I am ashamed at my faithless self. Let’s
quit putting God on trial. How are YOU doing?
I am writing this blog today on a Friday. I do not know when
Sheri will post it. I leave all that to her, but I want to encourage you that
for today, sing openly, praising Him
as you walk through the morning, this afternoon and into the night. When you
prepare lunch today, stop and thank Him that you “still can” do what you can do
and then turn around with a smile for someone and not a smirk, not a sarcastic
remark that could break someone to pieces. Oh to our Savior, how bad my mouth
can be. How are YOU doing?
May I encourage you, also, to listen to someone today, really listen without making
comments and give that person a moment to put it all out on the table. You may know a lot more than me or the person
who needs to unload, but why not just listen without commenting. Many times I have to pray, “Lord, shut my
stinkin’ mouth.” Just listen with patience, today. I will do the same. How
are YOU doing?
I found myself praying while reading Malachi, just talking
to God as if I were living during that time. People have been so rotten for so
long, I don’t know how God puts up with us but He does. I must pray for my
fellow friends and for myself. Will you stop, again, and pray? Pray properly
instead of preaching proudly! People need us to lift their names up to heaven.
So, stop and pray or walk and pray, drive and pray……just PRAY! He hears and
wants to answer. He loves you and He loves those for whom we are concerned. How
are YOU doing?
D. L. Moody wrote, “Prayer does not mean that I am to bring
God down to my thoughts and my purposes, and bend His government according to
my foolish, silly and sometimes sinful notions. Prayer means that I am to be raised
up into feeling, into union and design with Him; that I am to enter into His
counsel and carry out His purpose fully.”
While we lift our hands in praise, listen to others and
their needs, pray, we must also move and do! Today, do something for someone
else. How difficult could that be? At this writing I have a friend who is
concerned for her grandson who is in terrible sin and has fallen into the crowd
who cuts themselves. How horrible to hurt so badly that we feel we must cut
ourselves. I am praying for God’s guidance in this whole matter. She asked me
to pray and I have. Another friend has a
husband who just had open heart surgery. Fear, folks, of losing a loved one can
bring devastation like no other, especially when it is your own spouse. How are
YOU doing? How are your friends doing? People
need us to be top side, and not topsy turvy.
We are a marvelous creation as women, and
have the power to help bring change, hope and help to so many people. Cook,
mend, bag some groceries, call someone in the hospital, nursing home, or at
home…..move and do! How are YOU doing?
If we help the least of these, we have done a service to and
for our Lord…..remember that today and may it bring a smile that will be a
blessing and not a curse to others!
Mt 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Until next time, Lord Willing
Sharon
Amen .. thanks
