Just a Glitter of Light

When a Christian enters a room of darkness in their life, there is always the light of Jesus deep within because He never leaves. So then, why would a born-again believer take their own life? Does that person enter heaven? I have this question asked me every now and then and it is a tough one to answer not because I can’t answer it, but because it is difficult for some believers to grasp the full meaning of salvation. Once salvation is understood, we can understand a little more of man’s dilemmas and why darkness has taken over a born-again believer’s life.

The boundaries are there and we must take heed to the Word of God, obey it without question. Questions can be good if you and I allow God’s Word as the source for the answer. When we step outside that main boundary, we open a door to darkness.

This is another reason why Sheri and I promote getting to know Him better. If Jesus had taken His own life, we would have never had LIFE. You do understand that Satan actually believed he could convince Jesus to take his own life. Where does that leave you and me as the evil one continues to deceive believers and non-believers? Don’t trust in darkness but trust in the Light of Jesus Christ. That light inside you may just be a little glimmer right now, but it is light. It may be a candle at the very bottom of your heart, but friend, It is Light! There is no need to feed darkness. Jesus will give more light the instant we ask for it. He is not going to turn away HIS child which is you!

Mt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mt 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Children are so susceptible and must be taught truth early on. When mom and dad allow darkness in the home, children usually are the ones who pick it up and run with it. It becomes an attachment that cannot be easily rid.  Our teachers in our school battle the home’s influence EVERY DAY. When it is out of our hands, we hand it over to God’s HANDS, and then we trust Him to lead us as we try and reach those parents....... guiding them to truth. Everything takes time and patience. If you have family members who allow darkness in the home, then you know exactly what I am talking about. YOU may be the only one who supplies any kind of light.

Joh 8:12 ¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

The moment we actually take that tempting step away from truth, we ease ourselves into the path of darkness. More darkness leads to more darkness which is very dangerous for the Christian. This is what happens to a believer who stares suicide in the face. They see no way out because Satan has deceived them to believe the lie that “Their sin is too big to get out of and God will not forgive them and/or that their friends will not forgive or understand.” In reality, they believe that God doesn’t care enough to help them get back on track and stay there. That kind of darkness is NOT SENT FROM OUR FATHER BUT FROM THE FATHER OF LIES!

So what do you do to help someone who has entered into darkness?  You and I must ask God for the Light of the Holy Spirit to go before us leading us in Light as we show Light. This is just one reason for you and I to walk with God 24/7 as we do not know the influence of just one life upon another life. If a teen-ager knew that one person, just one person cared for their soul, maybe they would not enter into the darkness of suicide! On the other hand, I have seen good families bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, but the young person turns from light to darkness. Drugs and alcohol interfere with the mind and we know that teens take that chance not knowing how much it altars normal thinking. It is unfair for us to blame ourselves for someone's suicide Most all teens carry a cell phone. Give them your number if God has placed that young one on your mind. You have seen the signs. You know what is developing right before your eyes. Ask God for His Light immediately and don’t hesitate. You are not on a crusade to save the world, but you have committed to do whatever God has shown you FOR THIS DAY. Can He trust you?

David thought he could trust Ahithophel. My heart aches for Ahithophel. It is too late for his life to count for the Lord Jesus Christ but his horrible death speaks to thousands if not millions as the story is read in II Samuel. He was Bathsheba’s grandpa. He was someone’s Dad and Grandpa. He was the husband of a woman who probably was very proud of him until he decided to turn to a deceiving light sent from Satan. Oh to God we would trust only in the true Light of our God, the Lord Jesus Christ. All others are fakes which appear as light but are filled with a cold, cold darkness which leads to DEATH!

2Sa 17:23 And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

If YOU my friend face the temptation of not picking up your Bible today and reading the truth of His Word, you have chosen a step to darkness. Is it worth it?

Until next time, Lord willing.
Sharon
